The Opportunity

The Head of Travel Product & Commercial Growth sits at the intersection of product, commercial growth, and execution. In this pivotal leadership role, you will take market and customer opportunities and turn them into compelling, commercially viable travel propositions. Your oversight spans across the entire product landscape—driving end-to-end curation across core all travel products/offerings and strategic commercial partnerships. You will lead supplier negotiations, identify gaps across categories and destinations, and drive actionable growth initiatives that maximise Total Transaction Value (TTV), revenue, and profitability across TripADeal’s diversified portfolio.

Organisational Structure

This leadership opportunity sits within the Commercial department reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, directly managing and developing a dual-function team of 5 direct reports (Market Development Managers). This permanent full-time position is 100% onsite working from our Gold Coast office, with the ability to commute to our Byron Bay Head Quarters twice a week and/or as needed, working Monday to Friday.

A Day in the Life

A varied role that includes, but is not limited to:

  • Acting as the senior point of contact for key merchant relationships and vendor partnerships across the Product team.Identifying and evaluating new growth opportunities across travel destinations, categories, customer segments, and merchant partnerships.
  • Leading commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure attractive inclusions, pricing structures, and margin outcomes.
  • Developing new travel packages and concepts from initial market opportunity through to commercial readiness and configuration.
  • Analysing sales, conversion, and margin metrics to optimise, expand, refresh, or exit underperforming travel deals.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Pricing, Analytics, and Operations to translate product opportunities into compelling go-to-market campaigns. 

To be a Front Running Candidate

  • 5 years of commercial, BDM, or senior product development experience within the travel or cruise industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in travel product development, commercial deal structures, and contract reviews.
  • Proven track record in supplier relationship management, high-level commercial negotiation, and vendor growth.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience leveraging CRM (Salesforce preferred), sales data, and analytics to make data-backed recommendations.
  • Demonstrated team management capability leading and coaching a dual-function team under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent adaptability to navigate structural changes, prioritise competing projects, and maintain calm under pressure.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Qantas background check
