The Opportunity

To provide expertise in developing and delivering bespoke customer web solutions. This role will be responsible for delivering high quality web applications that help customers plan and book their travel experiences seamlessly and efficiently, improving the user experience and user interface, to enable travel dreams to come true!

 

Organisational Structure

You'll report to our Technical Lead. This permanent full-time position is 100% onsite working from our Byron Bay Headquarters or Varsity Lakes Gold Coast office, working Monday to Friday, 8-4pm or 9-5pm - you choose!

 

A Day in the Life

  • Developing, customising and maintaining high quality web applications using web technologies and frameworks such as but not limited to HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Vue.js, React and PHP Laravel
  • Successfully translating UI/UX designs to production level web application code, working on a healthy mix of cutting-edge greenfield projects and support for legacy applications 
  • Working closely in the team of designers and developers to craft responsive, mobile-friendly, interactive cross-browser and cross-device code, and integrate with the backend
  • Working seamlessly in an aspiring Agile environment and continuously review the business needs, manage work based on priorities, ensure milestones and deliverables are communicated and risks identified
  • Ensuring the technical delivery of our web solutions aligns and supports project goals, timeframes and performance objectives
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams at key project milestones to architect technical solutions and ensure alignment between design and technical implementation

 

To be a Front Running Candidate

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Front End Developer
  • Expert knowledge of HTML5/CSS3/JS, including popular frameworks (vanilla js, jQuery, Vue.js and/or React)
  • Ability to integrate with backend systems (JSON/XML/Ajax/REST APIs)
  • Experience with PHP Laravel
  • Experience migrating/refactoring solutions from legacy front ends to use modern front end technologies (Vue.js) and build reusable UI components and libraries
  • Responsive, mobile-first, accessible web development
  • Strong layout and design skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate with designers to comply with design systems
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Qantas background check
