The Opportunity

The Risk & Compliance Manager will partner with relevant internal and external stakeholders including Qantas Loyalty and Qantas Group to develop, implement, and own the TripADeal risk and compliance program to ensure the company's adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices. 

This role will proactively support stakeholders to identify and assess potential risks, implement appropriate controls, and foster a culture of compliance throughout TripADeal, enabling travel dreams to come true in an ethical manner, avoiding misconduct. 

 

Organisational Structure

You'll report to our Chief Financial Officer, and work closely with departments across TripADeal and Qantas including IT, Legal, Security, and Risk. You’ll need to be comfortable working with senior stakeholders.

As a pivotal new role at TripADeal, this role requires a presence of at least 3 days per week at our Byron Bay HQ, with the option to work from our Gold Coast office on the remaining days if desirable. 
Regular travel to Sydney will also be required for this role, to work closely with Qantas in their Mascot HQ. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity, working Monday to Friday, 8-4pm or 9-5pm - you choose!

 

A Day in the Life

  • Lead risk assessments and compliance monitoring, ensuring key risks are identified and managed.
  • Act as the conduit between IT, Legal, Risk, and Compliance, supporting TripADeal stakeholders with all matters relating to risk management and compliance.
  • Provide training to team members on risk management and compliance requirements.
  • Stay on top of industry regulations, updating our compliance framework as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to embed risk and compliance into business processes.
  • Investigate compliance breaches and implement corrective actions.
  • Track and report key risk and compliance metrics to senior management.
  • Facilitate risk and compliance workshops to strengthen our team’s understanding and culture around risk management.
  • Design and deliver continuous improvement initiatives for internal controls and processes.
  • Support cross-functional projects to ensure compliance considerations are factored into business decisions.
  • Work closely with Qantas and TripADeal stakeholders to support organisational compliance.

 

To be a Front Running Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years of experience and/or tertiary qualifications in risk, compliance or audit disciplines
  • Passionate and driven to succeed, self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to develop plans, prioritise and influence in a high-pressure environment 
  • Proven ability to own and understand operational and compliance risks
  • Significant experience in process mapping, risk and control identification 
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to bring others on the journey
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards is preferred
  • Experience in leading and influencing collaborative cross functional working groups to drive outcomes 
  • Solid problem-solver with an emerging ability to cut-through complexity, and an ability to think creatively at a tactical level with a keen attention to detail 
  • Ability to travel interstate on an as required with current drivers licence
  • Passion for travel and industry knowledge is a plus!
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Qantas background check
